Notes of the Public Schools Senior Class Play
The Senior Class Pinay Captain Applejack will be presented next Friday at 8:30 PM in the High School Auditorium with reserve seats on sale Monday at Edgar's. The Junior Senior Banquet occurs Saturday evening in the gym with music by Miss Evelyn Johnson and Mr. W. G. Leslie, followed by a program in the auditorium featuring scenes from Romeo and Juliet and a two act play Hans Van Samsit. The Drake Relays send David Green to Des Moines along with a group, and Eldora High baseball opens the season with a 3-2 win over Ackley and a 14-7 win over New Providence. The Home Hygiene class studies feeding the sick and aged, plus vegetable lessons. An assembly heard James Cameron discuss law enforcement and pledge signatures. The Community Club plans a Friday supper at the K. P. Hall followed by a lecture by Cora Johnstone Bost on Hell Roaring Waters.

A large docket includes many new filings such as Walton vs Citizens Bank and Lambright v Palm, with numerous damages suits and divorces listed for trial. Bids Opened for County Home and Local Politics
The Board of Supervisors opened bids for a new county home with total bids around 38 200 to 40 000, while a vote on funding looms at the June 7 primary. Contractors agreed to trim costs to fit an 87 000 budget, with Iowa Falls Construction Co winning the general contract for 32 427 and other bids spread across Des Moines Eldora and Hubbard. Fire Ravages Eldora Home Despite Two Water Streams
Firefighters battled a blaze at the Nover home on North Washington last Thursday at five. Two streams of water saved the structure, but the interior suffered heavy water damage after occupants had removed household goods. Cause unknown. Mrs Noyer hosted the Cemetery Auxiliary earlier that afternoon.

Big Bus Burns Near Hudson Causes Big Loss
A bus running between here and Des Moines toward Waterloo burned rapidly on its return Friday just south of Hudson. The driver saw the flames as the bus went up, with wheels twisting from the heat. The loss is about $6,000, and another bus is planned soon. Station Looming Up The new KE. E. McFarland station on East Edgington rises northeast of the square and will be a fine addition to town when finished. Market Letters Report Cattle Hog Prices April 19 1926
A market letter dated April 19 1926 notes cattle receipts near 25 000 with steers about 26c lower across grades except some light yearlings and cheaper steers selling steady. Prime heavy steers up to 10.35 dollars, choice yearlings 10.50. Cows and heifers mixed with ranges from 5.85 to 8.60 for several classes, hogs around 11.40 to 12.60 per hundredweight, sheep and lamb markets mixed with lambs around 12.50 to 15.00 and fat ewes 8.50 to 9.50. Law enforcement resolutions praised for backing court actions and support for officers. A Training School Band broadcast from Amep drew praise, with community notes of congratulations and anticipation for spring events.

The Baptist Bible Union of Iowa will convene at the First Baptist Church in Eldora from Monday April 26 to Wednesday evening.
