Planning Pavement for a Cattle Feedlot in Hardin County

In the 1953 Hardin County Index, Van Wick recommends pavements for feedlots based on cattle behavior. He suggests paving the entire lot with 30 to 60 square feet per steer or cow, or 12 to 15 square feet per 21 poun d hay, depending on feed setup. Where full lot paving isn't used, he advises 20 to 24 foot strips under feed and hay banks and 8 to 10 feet of concrete around water tanks.
