Rebekah Lodge Reports on Assembly in Des Moines

The Rebekah Lodge met Tuesday evening with 30 members present. Mrs Claude Goodson reported on the Rebekah Assembly she attended in Des Moines. Refreshments were provided by Miss Ethel Cox, Mrs Ella Ford, and Mrs Addie Faris. Decorations featured a Halloween motif.

Mrs Fagg Hosts Mothers Club Luncheon at Tea Room

Mrs Ned Fagg and Mrs K Reisinger hosted Tuesday's Mothers Club luncheon at Blanche and Ethel's Tea Room. After the meal, bridge was played at the Fagg home with prizes awarded to Mrs Robert Brown, Mrs E B Crosley, and Mrs C F Way. Mrs Frank Sheldon to serve as host at the November 23 meeting.

Mrs Frey Hosts Sans Souci Club Meeting

Mrs Howard Frey hosted the Sans Souci club Tuesday afternoon with a 1:45 dessert lunch. Assisted by Mrs Howard Harris, she led a social and needlework gathering. Mrs L. V. Putnam will host the next meeting on November 9.

Mrs Rodgers feted at baby shower in honor of Wendy Jo

Mrs Richard Murphy and Mrs Leonard Mason hosted a baby shower Tuesday for Mrs Dale Rodgers and her daughter Wendy Jo. Games and advice for new mothers were shared. Angel pie and coffee were served by the hostesses.

Engagement of Virginia Galloway to Roger Armstrong

Bride elect Virginia Lee Galloway of Vallejo California and Roger Dean Armstrong of Eldora Iowa announce their engagement. Miss Galloway graduated Vallejo College in 1954 and works for Pacific Telephone. Armstrong, Eldora High School 1950 graduate, recently discharged from the Navy and employed at Benicia Arsenal. Wedding set for November 26.

Alpha Club Hosts Halloween Themed Dessert Lunch

Mrs John Pierson welcomed the Alpha Club for a Tuesday evening gathering. A dessert lunch featured a Halloween theme, roll call quoting "The Country of an Author or Poet." Mrs Richard Pulse led the program with Mrs Paul Walter assisting. Ceramics was the lesson. The next meeting is planned for November 23 with Mrs John K. Moore hosting, and the Hospitality Club will visit with a program on Art by Mrs Paul Maddy.

Congs Jr Work Shop Meeting Monday

The Congregational Junior Work Service group met Monday evening for their regular meeting. They painted a play pen, covered a pad for it, and worked on Junior choir robes. A family Christmas Work meeting was planned. Refreshments were served by Mrs Mac Greene, Mrs Ralph Imes, and Mrs Ben Juchems. Next meeting planned for Nov 22. Mr and Mrs Newell Hartrum of Cedar Falls welcomed Kerry Irvin, a six pound two ounce baby boy, born October 26. Mrs Hartrum is the former Mary Farmer, daughter of Mr and Mrs Lester Farmer of Eldora. Mr and Mrs Henry J Wehrman hosted a Sunday family dinner for his 85th birthday. guests included Forest Wehrman of Chicago, Mabel Jones of Hawthorne, Harold Wehrman and family, and E. V. Reece of Eldora.

Momberg Montz Vows Read Saturday in Marshalltown

Frances Ilene Momberg and Dale F Montz of Marshalltown were married at 2 pm Saturday in the Montz grandparents home. Rev Walker of the Christian Church officiated. Attendants were Frank Dvorak and guests included Don Carsons Pluma B Montz and Max Montz. The groom works at Fishes Governor Company and they will reside on 8 South 8th Ave.

Child Study Club Meeting Hosted by Mrs Miller

The Child Study Club met Tuesday evening at Mrs Jay Millers home with co hosts Mrs Marvin Catlin and Mrs Don Wilson. Eleven members attended and a dessert luncheon followed the regular meeting. The next meeting will feature Kenneth Anway of Anway Flowers Shop giving a demonstration on flower arrangements.

Iowa library group meets in Cedar Rapids

The Iowa State Library Association held its annual three day meeting in Cedar Rapids from October 21 to 23. Mrs Fred Wehrman, librarian of the local Public Library, attended. Robert Aura Smith of the New York Times Editorial Council spoke on world affairs and Saturday morning Clara Ingram Judson addressed the group and signed her biography of Andrew Jackson.

Woman's Club Hosts Reader Program at Eldora Meeting

The Twentieth Century Club sponsors the Eldora Women's Club meeting on Monday November 1 at 2 PM in the Library club rooms. Mason City reader Mrs James Barclay presents a comedy Call It a Day with a Northern Iowa audience known as the One Man Show. Musical numbers by Mrs Wayne Halstead and Mrs Paul Simons. Hostesses are Mrs W H Baily and Mrs Kathryn Ibach.

Hawthorne Club Meets At Mrs Darzes Home

The Hawthorne Club gathered Monday evening at Mrs Louis Darzes with fifteen members present. Roll call prompted ideas for salads and Mrs Mary Ziesman led a book review of Born A Yankee by Mrs Grace Carstens. Next meeting is scheduled for November 8 at Mrs W C Vigars home. members asked to bring birthday books.

Twentieth Century Observed Hallowe'en Party

The 20th Century Club held a Halloween party Monday evening at the Eldora Public Library. Mrs W H Longenecker led with assistance from several members including Mrs L V Putnam Miss Leota Hardy and Mrs Kathyn Ibach. Sixteen members and two guests Mrs Esther Williams and Mrs Ernest Coffee attended. Games and social time followed with decorations and refreshments in the Halloween theme.
