Problems Of Youth Discussed At Open Meetings Next Week
Meetings to discuss youth needs in Hardin county will occur Monday and Tuesday Oct 28 29. A proposed family style small group home for Hardin county teenagers may be created. First meeting Oct 28 at 7:30 p.m. in Room 207 Caroline Hall Ellsworth Community College Iowa Falls. Second Oct 29 at 7:30 p.m. in Eldora Hardin County Savings Bank basement. Public invited. The Eldora Band Boosters begin selecting band uniforms with a sketch to be shown in November. A fund drive aims to raise about $9,000 for 60 new uniforms. President Mrs Harvey Herrold. Rev. Fred A. Muen Chow is to be installed as pastor at St Paul Lutheran Church Eldora in a 2 pm ceremony on Sunday October 27. He succeeds Rev. John Zimmermann who moved to Cedar Rapids and will also serve St John Lutheran Wellsburg. He is a Concordia Seminary 1961 graduate and has served at Amenia Grandin and Wimbledon Kensal Courtenay. He and his wife Marlene have five children. John McBride is secretary and Mrs Don Hansen treasurer.

Quilt Raffle At Eldora Hospital Bazaar
A special quilt bearing the design Caesar's Crown will be raffled at the Eldora Community Hospital Auxiliary Bazaar. The event runs Friday November 14 from 10 am to 2 pm in the Second National Bank community room. Tickets from local hosts include Mrs. Armstrong Hall Leuhder Tesch Kounkel and Wilson. The quilt is on display at Harvey's Home Decorating Store on Eldora's square.

Labor Survey Set For Friday And Saturday

Eldora Halloween parade and costume judging set for Oct 20
Eldora Chamber of Commerce hosts a costume judging and parade at Eldora Community School junior high gym for children under 12. Participants must arrive by 5 p.m. judging occurs in three age groups with prizes of 8 5 3 and 2 dollars in each. Winners announced after a parade indoors due to weather. Script money usable at Chamber member stores, with Harrison Wolcott heading the retail committee.

Eldora City Council accepted reconstruction of the south Washington Street section and the Woodland Acres final plat, subject to approval by the Illinois State Highway Commission. Weaver Construction of Iowa Falls served as contractor with costs capped at 20000 paid by the state and the rest by the city. A curb cut permit was issued to George O Bryan and a sewer water permit for Lot 6 Crestview Addition.
