Sunday worship and youth meetings fill two local churches with events from October 23. Willam Penn College Day speakers and hope for a guests from Nashua describe a busy weekend, while residents attend club meetings and celebrate community notes, travel plans, and hospital visits across New Providence and Eldora.
The cinemaScope color adventure The Living Swamp tours the Okefenokee wilds at the New Grand Theatre this Sunday Monday and Tuesday October 23 24 25. It features wild animal and bird life never before filmed paired with the new comedy How To Be Very Very Popular.
A compact listing shows Sunday School at 10:00 a m and Morning Worship at 11:00 a m across several churches including Chester with Honey Creek cooperation. Evening worship at 7:30 p m, 8:00 p m Thursday prayer, and a basket dinner after morning worship to honor Illinois Grove friends. Other notes include Evangelistic Service at Training School Chapel with chaplain Jev Howard Blandan, Bible classes, and Midweek services. Congregational Church led by J B Innes offers Divine Worship at 8 and 11, Sunday School at 10, adult class and coffee hour, nursery class at 11, United Youth Jrs at 6, seniors leave for Conrad at 4 30, senior choir rehearsals 4 and 7 30 Thursdays.
Point Pleasant residents hosted a Birthday club gathering with lunch served by Alice Dreier and her sister. Attending were Mrs. Herbert Meeker, Mrs. Otto Bahr, and many Dreier family members. Funeral services for Henry Luitjens occurred in Grundy Center, with burial in Centerville. Marilyn Eggleston visited Reinbeck. other gatherings included Mrs. H E Dreier staying with Morris and Gerald Dreier families and trips to Iowa Falls.
Sunday and weekend visits across Hardin County include Marshalltown guests Lou Walbaum Kempton and Margaret Wellsburg and Rhea Hensley. Dean Eggleston hosts. Mary Ziesman visits Dale Meeker. Dance and church events feature the Griffitts. Dale Meeker and Connie Bobby attend gatherings. Roger Eldora and Taber families report visits along with Dreier family birthday dinner events in Town Falls.
