Announce Cynthia Ann Mossman a 7 pound 1 ounce baby girl born Sept 29 to Mrs Evard Mossman and Lt Sam Mossman of Ardmore Oklahoma. Numerous relatives and friends from Remsen Iowa Hampton Iowa and Des Moines Iowa attend services and visits. Local families host guests from Des Moines Waterloo Sioux City and Alexandria Louisiana with weekend gatherings and travel updates.
Mildred Deters and Harold Knutson wed in Nashua in a 4:30 afternoon service. The couple, from Wellsburg and Eldora, honeymooned in the Black Hills and Cheyenne. Attendants included Hilmer Krause and family, with Rev. Glenn Utterbach performing the single ring ceremony. They now reside in Eldora.
Mrs. Ruth Clemons Mrs. George Haynes and Mrs. Ruby Hundert mark were in Marshalltown. Dinner guests honoring the Colemans first wedding anniversary included Mr. and Mrs. Donald Coleman and Denny. Other travelers: Mr. and Mrs. Howard Harris and family, visiting Boone then Eldora, with a future visit to Aiken Minnesota and Twin Cities. Mrs. Miriam Briel leaves Eldora for Phoenix Arizona after two years there. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Smith and Mrs. Hazel Sherman head to Cortez Florida for winter. Charles Dettbarn and Cedar Falls companions visit Chicago and stay with Elmer Dettbarn family. Doyle Felton and Mrs. Paul Hodgson attend Eastern Star Friendship night at Newton. Felton played Martha in the paint work. Pamela Felton joined.
Engaged Mr and Mrs Larry Snow and daughter LaVonne Sue were Sunday evening guests in Liscomb at the home of Mrs Snows parents Mr and Mrs Wain Hinshaw. Ray was in Ellsworth Friday visiting Wilford Rush. LeRoy Aswexon and Lillian Scott took Aswegon grandmother Mrs E L Piper back to Minneapolis after visiting Eldora relatives. They traveled via Faribault and visited George Day in his home on Saturday. Captain Elmer Davies marine pilot based at Estere California is a former Eldora boy who graduated in 1936. Kay Frazer visiting Des Moines spent weekend with parental Harold Frazer in Eldora. Nelle Starr, Jeanette Wickey and daughters Patty and Karen visited Cedar Rapids and Chas Henninger patient in St Lukes with a broken arm and leg. Duane Geesaman of Dodge City left after three weeks with Bing Jacksons for return home. Bob visited his father Rob J B Ferguson in Marengo on Saturday as Ferguson recovered from a heart attack. Jim McCullen and Jamaica couple were weekend guests of Wayne Perkins. Oyster supper guests included Donald Perkins and daughters and Bert Beecher. J D Hossler of Eldora and Millard Hamilton of Iowa Falls toured Fayette Upper Iowa University Festina and Decorah then along the Mississippi at Waukon before returning home. Lillian Scott of Baxter convalescing with Eldora relatives left for home after hospital stay in Marshalltown. Kenneth Anway and Des Moines trip marked the Florists’ fiftieth anniversary at the Savory Hotel with banquet and floral displays. A L Davison and family and Mrs Paul Davison were weekend guests in Webster City with Warren Davison.
The family expresses deep gratitude to relatives and friends for flowers gifts and cards shown after the death of their wife mother and sister Mrs Ernest A Barr and baby daughter. Special thanks are given to Dr Dorothy Mullian for her steady care and to several relatives and friends listed.
