Nineteen Eldora high school students will participate in the Iowa All-State music festival in Des Moines today and tomorrow. Free Matinee for Children At New Grand Theatre
The Christmas committee of the Chamber of Commerce and the New Grand Theatre offer three free children’s matinee movies this December. The first is tomorrow at 2 p.m. Eldora residents under 12 can request tickets from Eldora chants, with up to three tickets needed for all three showings. The 1953 Eldora Community Chest neared its 26 000 goal after a basketball jamboree hosted by local groups. Fireman five won the trophy for best appearance and entertainment. Final Rites Sunday For Fred T Peirce
Funeral services for Frederick Pierce were held Sunday at the Christian church with Rev. Paul Enabait and Rev. B H Harris officiating. Interment followed in Chester Cemetery. Pierce, born April 25 1906, was survived by his wife Kathryn and two daughters. He served in Africa in 1942 and later farmed, belonging to the American Legion and V F W.
