Hardin County Supervisors let one road contract and rejected two bids for slurry coat improvements on a 10 mile stretch south of New Providence to Highway 65 at $2,100 per mile. Eldora businessmen are urged to back the second annual Kids Fishing Derby set for Saturday July 11 at Lower Pine Lake. Sponsored by the Pine Lake Improvement Committee, a division of the Eldora Chamber of Commerce, the event runs 1:30 to 4 p.m. at the park for children through age 12 with prizes from local merchants. Escapes Injury As Car Overturns Near Hubbard
Mrs. Richard Eller age 29 of Hubbard and two children escaped serious injury in a one car crash two miles west and half a mile south of Hubbard on a county gravel road. The 1969 Chevrolet left the road after striking a tractor and rotary hoe, overturning. Mrs. Eller suffered head lacerations treated at Iowa Falls hospital and was released. The children were unharmed. No charges were filed.

Stolen Antique Clock Reported At Wiesner Farm
Mary Voss reported theft of an antique clock valued over 150 dollars from the Ed Wiesner farm home east of Vidora. The clock was taken between 2 a.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday while the Wiesner family were away, prompting a sheriff’s office investigation.
