Sheriff Callaway Injured Arresting Suspect North of Eldora
Sheriff Robert D. Callaway sustained shoulder and back injuries in a struggle while arresting Gregory Allen Finchbone, 22, after a report of a man attempting to rape a woman near Steamboat Rock. Finchbone, from Minnesota and staying at the Eldora hotel, faced assault with intent to do great bodily harm and other charges. He posted a 10 percent bond of $100 and was to appear in district court. Finchbone was captured after Callaway, aided by Eldora Police, pursued him into a roadside ditch and subdued him.
