Park Fund Drive Reaches 3000 Mark For Eldora Park
A park development fund drive reached the $3,000 mark with a total of 3155 reported from a Monday meeting. Eldora Mayor Gould noted two members were absent. The city aims to finish by June with a project cost of 62000 and half funded by a state Rural Development match. Donations are tax deductible and may be pledged until June 1.

Jaspers of Steamboat Flock was elected 1974 president of the Hardin County Pork Producers at an organizational meeting after the annual banquet in Eldora. A record turnout of 628 attended the banquet served by Steamboat Tech high school students and Steamboat Rock Boosters. Five new directors and alternates were chosen, with Jisle Cook named vice president, Ron Vierkandt secretary, and Ted Ridout treasurer. A PIE CONTEST and auction raised 965 for the county, with top pies purchased by Knight's Locker Service, Lawn Hill Cooperative, and Farmers Mutual Insurance.

Becky Minteer Named 1974 Hardin County Park Queen
Becky Minteer daughter of Mr and Mrs Lyte Minteer of New Providence was named the 1974 Hardin County Park Queen during Monday night ceremonies at the Eldora youth building. Runner-up was Linn Hinderaker of Radcliffe with Beth Tesdahl Sue Fjeland and Kathy Findman also in contention. Special pork awards were given to area hosts and sponsors, with Merl Paul Iowa Falls presenting trophies for the North Quality Park Show.

Kindergarten Registration Set March 29
Registration for students entering kindergarten next fall will be held Friday, March 29, at Eldora Elementary School from 1 to 3 p.m. Parents should bring the birth certificate. Children need not attend. To be eligible, a child must be five by September 15, 1974. A week long kindergarten clinic will be held April 22-26 at Eldora School.
