Eldora cleaner and tailor McVeety marks 21st anniversary this month with 21 free cleaning certificates offered at the shop July 16 to 23. Owneroperator Eldon McVedy opened in 1930 in the International Building and later moved to Speers Building before constructing the Washingt on Street facility in 1947. He also runs an auxiliary Hubbard shop. staff include Zaurin McCall Aletha McKenzie Margaret Folkerts andBirney Jackson. McVeety is a Drake University graduate and former president of the Iowa State Cleaners Association now its chairman of the board of directors.

Agnes Glaze Dies. Local Services Held In Eldora Area
Funeral services were held Wednesday at Longe necker Funeral Home in Eldora for Agnes R. Glaze a lifelong resident who died Monday July 11. Burial was at Steamboat Rock Cemetery with Rev. Dewey Lamprecht officiating and vocalist William M Hartman. She was born September 22 1898 at Steamboat Rock Iowa and married Roy Beasley in 1919 with two children Bonnie Bleeker and Eloise Harvey. Surviving are two stepchildren two brothers and two sisters plus other relatives.

Tuesday the Hardin county Board of Supervisors awarded a 32849.48 dollar contract to M. T. McGuire & Co of Algona for two road projects in Eldora and Union townships. Eldora project covers about 4% miles southeast of Eldora while Union township spans 489 of a mile.

School Budgets See Slight Increases in SA and Owasa
Budget estimates for Steamboat Rock and Owasa Community School Districts show small rises for the new year. Bruce Benjamin Barnes 63 lifelong Union resident died Monday after a several months illness. Services Thursday afternoon at Biersborn Funeral Home followed by burial in Hauser Cemetery. He served in World War I and was a member of the Union Church of Christ American Legion and Odd Fellows. Survivors include his wife Dora and three sons Maurice Merwin and Monty, five grandchildren.

The 7th annual Iowa Veterinarians Sports and Field Day will be held in Eldora on Thursday August 4 with 9:30 registration and a 6:30 dinner at Ping Lake Country Club. Don LaVelle and John Starr announce the 1960 Eldora Kiddies Days will run July 28 and 29 with Steelman of Hampton providing rides. Soldiers Relief Post Renames Foster to Executive Secretary
Gene Foster of Eldora was rehired as executive secretary of the Hardin County Soldiers Relief Commission after an announcement by the Board of Supervisors and the Soldier's Relief Commission on Tuesday. Foster, who succeeds F. C. Van Derveer, will be paid 3600 dollars per year plus mileage. Kenneth Bolles of Hadcliffe was reappointed to the Soldiers Relief Board for a three year term. Other members are J. E. Tull of Eldora and Leonard Lettow of Iowa Falls.

Ten Youths Injured In Radcliffe Pickup Crash
A Boone YMCA camp group of ten youths aged 3 to 14, traveling in a Chevrolet pickup and trailer with canoes, were in a ditch at the east edge of Radcliffe after a left rear tire blew out. Five sustained serious injuries and were taken to Iowa Falls hospital. the other five received minor treatment. Camp director Donald Leo and helper Jim Johndreau escaped injury. The group, from Des Moines, was en route from Boone to Eldora for a canoe trip down the Iowa River to Marshalltown. Local sheriff’s office covered the scene.
