Eldora Branch manager Ray Anderson says there is no imminent natural gas shortage for residential and small commercial users in Eldora and nearby areas served by Iowa Electric Light and Power. He notes interruptible customers have faced curtailed supplies, with about 30 large users switched to fuel oil or propane.

Calves weigh totals rise for 1977 Hardin County Fair
Hardin County Extension reports 437 market calves weighed countywide for the fair, 27 more than last year, with 410 steers and 27 heifers. Crossbred steers lead with 269 head, followed by Hereford, Angus, and Shorthorn. Heifers include several Angus, Hereford, Shorthorn, and Crossbred. Most animals fall in the 501 to 900 lb range. 4-H and FFA youth note area conventions and weigh-in deadlines, with calf weighing due by February 1.

County Accepts Bids On Four Vehicles Here
Hardin County Board of Supervisors accepted bids for four vehicles. Crandall Chevrolet Eldora offered a van for road maintenance at 3949 dollars and a 12 passenger van for transporting residents to Mid-Iowa Workshops and Pleasant Hill Development Center in Marshalltown at 3881 dollars.
