Five Hardin county officials begin new terms January 1 with only one newcomer to the Hardin County Attorney post Jim R Sween will replace Allan Oppen after a write in bid Eldora. Woody Griffitt age 57 former Eldora resident died Thursday night at his Granby Missouri home from a cerebral hemorrhage. Services and burial were held Sunday December 22 at Granby. Griffitt was brother in law to Paul Taber Eldora Richard Taber Marshalltown and Taber Steamboat Rock.

Clear Lake Rites For Mr. Wright
Funeral services were held December 10 in Clear Lake for Gerald Lewis Wright 64 a former Eldora resident who died in a Mason City hospital. Interment followed at Memorial Park Cemetery. Wright born February 5 1910 in Eldora son of Lewis and Lena Wright lived in Eldora Mason City Cedar Rapids and Clear Lake. He worked for Iowa Highway Commission Peoples Gas and Electric Collins Radio retiring 1972. He married Helen Topp in 1939 now survived by his wife and a sister in law Mrs M R Wright.
