Prizes For Best In Each Kiddies Days Parade Category
Eldora Chamber of Commerce sponsors the Kiddies Days parade on Saturday August 25 with prizes for best entries in seven categories including pets decorated cycles tricycles wagons humorous costumes and original costumes. Judging begins at 9 am at Fidora High School grounds with the parade at 9 39 am followed by rides from 10 am to 10 pm both days. Rides cost 10 cents each and winners are announced from Eldora Pioneer Plaza after the parade.

Funeral services were held for William JF Meier 69 at Salem United Methodist Church Hubbard with interment in Hubbard Cemetery. Boeke Funeral Home arranged. casket bearers include Martin Floyd Wayne Meier Leonar d Orgell Faye Kuhfus Elmer Kuhlman. He was born November 8 1883 in Sherman Township and married Hulda Kuhlman March 2 1915. They farmed in Grant Township before retiring to town in 1948. He is survived by his wife two daughters and five grandchildren.

Tires and fishing tackle stolen in two Hardin County thefts
Two thefts were reported by the Hardin County Sheriff's Office Monday. The Coop Station in Radcliffe reported four Blue Streak Speedway Special tires and wheels stolen from an unspecified hydraulic machine. Dave Brown of Eldora reported his fishing tackle box and $30 to $40 worth of lures stolen while fishing on the Iowa River near Wagle City Saturday afternoon.
