Huehn to Speak at Ackley High School Dedication
Kermith Huehn, Hardin county superintendent of schools, will give the main address at the Ackley Community High School dedication. The program starts with a band concert at 1:40 p.m. and dedication ceremonies begin at 2 p.m. An open house follows at 5 p.m. The $300,000 building was approved by voters on April 20, 1955, by 729 to 252, with construction contracts dated December 16, 1955 and the building first used on September 3, 1957.

The sixth and seventh grades receive a new bulletin board and four books: Blueberry Mountain Becky's Secret Tree Wag On and Black Stallion's Courage. Tull Appointed Foreign Service Officer by President Eisenhower
James Lewis Tull son of James E. Tull is named a career Foreign Service Officer by President Eisenhower. He becomes a Vice Consul and Diplomatic Service secretary and begins training at the Foreign Service Institute before an overseas post. Born 1930 in Humeston Iowa, he holds a Colorado university BA 1967 and MS 1958, and served in the U S Navy 1951 53. He is married to Nilva Jean Freed with two children.
