Hawkeye Company Formed For U S Army Training
The U S Army Recruiting Command and 4th Infantry Division Mech announce a 200 man Hawkeye Company to enlist, train, and serve together from a specified region. It will begin June 19 1973 with basic at Fort Ord, advance to Fort Carson for AIT, then a minimum six months at Fort Carson. Fort Carson serves as test site for the concept, with precedent Hodag Platoon in Rhinelander Wisconsin and ten similar operations now running. Army officers will address Iowa civic groups and heliborne teams will visit Iowa high schools.

Judgment Sought Over Note and Taxes in Eldora
Nevada Federal Savings and Loan Association seeks $13,454.44 for a promissory note and taxes. It asks for foreclosure of a mortgage on property in Liberty Park Addition to Eldora and a $7,292.25 personal judgment. The petition, filed in Hardin County District Court, notes a $10,000 note dated September 15, 1965 and asserts default and tax nonpayment. It seeks subordination of certain liens including the Iowa Employment Security Commission and the United States to the plaintiff’s lien.
