Town Pum Reports on Youth Building Plans and Events

First indications place the County Youth Building facing north toward the football field. If approved, five to six groups can meet there simultaneously, enabling up to 156 meetings a month. Maurice Cook, General Chairman, aims to hit the $40,000 fund drive target but wants funds in hand before starting construction. Contributions now may hasten a start date. The youth building aims to maximize value and schedule efficiency with ample funding. Meanwhile Mrs. Eisenhower’s appearance at a Washington tea drew fashion chatter about a dress worn by Mrs Curries Crane. The fair board plans a lighted race track with stock car, hot rod, horse, and ostrich races, possibly benefiting the Youth Building. Look for dates on Steamboat Rock Centennial, a new Eldora business opening, a Pine Lake Tool Co branch, two fairground buildings sale to clear space, and an Easter egg coloring entry from Yuma, signed Martin Cretin, 7.
