He says US taxpayers covered one third of the initial 10 million UNEF budget, half of the next 8.5 million, plus transport and salvage costs totaling over five million, while nine other nations pledged just 6.5 million. He adds that key nations including Britain France Israel Egypt and Russia made no pledge to canal salvage.

New Providence FLFLA Rising Sons chapter met Wednesday evening in the Agriculture room with sixteen members and one guest. Delegates Merle Cox and Larry Winters were appointed to attend the District Convention at Rockford. Ronnie Hackett was named alternate.
Neil Hadley and Larry Winters named delegates for the State Convention in Cedar Rapids on April 27 and 28. Expected attendance modest, with about a dozen members likely to attend and stay in a motel. Following the meeting, volleyball was played in the gym. Mr and Mrs Lee Meeker attended school operettas Friday evening and stayed overnight with Mrs Meeker's parents. Mrs Ethel Faris returned home after spending winter in California. Sessions of Honey Creek Quarterly Meeting begin Saturday morning at the New Providence Friends church with Ministry and Counsel at 9:30 and Edith Ratcliff to speak at 10:30.
