Students Vote Barry and Johnson in Hanover mock election

The student mock election at Hanover saw Barry Goldwater win by 28 votes over Rockefeller Republican candidates, while the faculty backed Johnson 44 to 4. About 70 percent of students participated amid a flu epidemic and student-teaching duties, with notable write-ins and cross-party voting patterns.

Students alerted for graduate record exams this fall

Academic Dean Harold J. Haverkamp reminded graduate candidates to file for the Graduate Record Examinations used in admissions and fellowships. The first test date is November 21 with a registration deadline of November 6. Tests will be held at Indiana University Butler University University of Louisville and other area universities.

Hanover Institute on Middle Africa Formed and Planned

Middle Africa Committee and Hanover Institute faculty and student executives met to outline the Institute to be held March 3-6, 1985. Professor Trimble leads in Bowers absence as director, with a goal to secure Indiana University funds and coordinate themes, programs, and personnel for an expanded institute.

Reading From Macbeth by Browne Pair at Assembly

An Impression of Macbeth will be the assembly address by British actors Mr. and Mrs. E. Martin Browne. The Brownes, noted for Shakespearian work and religious drama revival, will outline the play and present dialogues. They will also speak on Love in Shakespeare at 4:00 p.m. next Tuesday in the Administration Building lounge.

Hanover College Theater presents Julius Caesar on November 6 and 7 at 8 15 P M with a largely freshman cast led by Phillip Hyde as Caesar Randy Smith as Brutus and James Cunningham as Cassius Kathy Keith and Pam Miller play Calpurnia and Portia The set blends representation over realism and uses multiple acting spaces to mirror Globe performances The production is student run with Dr Withey directing and Jack Cluen in charge of scenery Tickets are available November 2 6 at Parker Auditorium with an activity card required

The Loser Topic at Hanover Presbyterian Talk

The Rev. F William Clemenson pastor of Hanover Presbyterian Church will discuss The Loser at the next assembly. Clemenson grew up in suburban Chicago studied art before entering the ministry and moving to Missouri. He served Pierceton Indiana during seminary and after graduation, and has been at Hanover since January 1962. He and his wife have four children.
