Weekend event blends football game and talent show

A full day of campus activities begins with a President Horner coffee at his home and ends with Dad's Night Out in Lynn Gym. Student chairs Tim Neher and Linda Akers, with Professor Max Poland coordinating, plan a 7:30 a.m. fathers’ registration, a 8:30 to 9:45 coffee, 10:00 to 11:00 program, 11:00 to 11:29 business meeting, and a 12:00 to 1:15 lunch. Activities include a panel on off campus study moderated by Academic Dean Harold J. Haverkamp, Dr. John Yarnelle’s talk Mathematics Goes to Hollywood, choir, a 2:00 football vs Taylor University, open houses, and a closing Sorority Sing and Fanfare at 7:30 in Lynn Gym. Co-chairs Fetig and Hough lead the talent program with several student organizers handling registration, programs, open houses, and parking.

Dad's Night Out talent show closes Hanover Dad's Day 1964

A 7:30 p.m. Lynn Gymnasium finale features 15 student acts with emcee Senior Margie Stewart. Acts include sorority performances by Phi Mu Alpha Omicron Pi and Alpha Delta Pi, plus others such as folksinging, dancing, acrobatics, group comedy and magic.

Shearing Folk Singers To Perform Wednesday

The Ford CARavan of Music comes to Hanover with Shearing and the Seren dipity Singers. Dean Glenn Boncett and the senior class organized ticket sales after finances failed for a larger program, distributing yellow sailor hats as promotional material.

Hanover Hosts State Religious Gathering

Eighteen Protestant denominations in Indiana co operate again this year in the Indiana Chain of Missions to be represented in Hanover Thursday and Friday next week. In Long Gym Thursday at 8 15 p m a panel discussion features two speakers from India with local students. Dr Manfred J Laun director of Evangelical Hospital in Orissa and Mrs Kenneth L Potee who has worked in Jabalpur will take part. Friday at 7 30 p m at Hanover United Presbyterian Church Robert B Kochitzky executive director of the Laymen's Overseas League will speak. The Chain of Missions group will also visit churches in Jefferson County and appear with Rotary Kiwanis clubs and at several schools.

The Sunday program at 1 35 on Radio WORX will discuss poverty in the United States. Panelists include Dr Stanley Wetter, Kathy Westfall, Tom Hall, and Ted Lester.

Campus Mock Election Set for October 27 at Classic Hall

Campus prepares for a mock national and international policy election hosted by the Public Affairs Forum with Young Republicans and Young Democrats booths October 26 and 27. Speakers on October 26 discuss differences between parties. Mock polls open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. October 27 with split ticket voting allowed and five ballot boxes. Poll watchers from each party and a PAF moderator oversee the process. results to be front page in the TRIANGLE.
