Moses F Dunn 62 of Bedford bequeaths $1000 to the Union Literary Society and $1000 to the local Beta Theta Pi chapter, with over $100,000 to Purdue University. U S Higher Education Sees 1914 Student Rise
The 1914 annual report of the commissioner shows 216,493 students enrolled in U S colleges, universities, and technical schools up from 1913 by 14,262. The 567 institutions reflect a 29 drop from the prior year with 93 public and 474 private. Men outnumber women 139,373 to 77,120, up from 128,644 to 73,587 in 1913.
