Hanover Huskies football team remains active but will miss the Wabash game on October 28 after a release letter from Mr. Eller of Wabash. The squad, mostly freshmen, will focus on two remaining matches Moores Hill and Franklin, with idle dates for outside competition.
The girls gym class walked to Butler Falls on Monday and returned by supper, while Tuesday the young men did a hike to Dead Man's Falls. They enjoyed the trip and returned with large appetites, likely affecting local boarding houses of the area.
Six courts are now playable each afternoon at Zetelathean and Phi Delt with demand high as they usually fill. The Betas began play on Friday night, signaling active club tennis elsewhere.
State Secretary of the YWCA of Indiana Miss Emma Jean Batty spoke at the Hanover chapter on Tuesday afternoon, addressing the girls about the Christian Association and its work among colleges in the country. She spent the afternoon and night with local members.
The Revonah Junior Class elected Arthur Iddings business manager last week to replace Van cil who left college early. Committees began work early with plans for assignments and the yearbook style. Despite a small class size the editorial staff remains confident in a high quality annual.
The prep football team won 21 to 0 in a one sided game on Woods Field last Saturday afternoon. The academy backfield produced most of the scoring with strong end runs and the visitors showcased effective forward passes.
The Southwestern College legian notes that the high school classes of 1911 are late to turn green as some prep insignia remain bright and shining on Hanover's campus, signaling lingering school pride and tradition.
Professor Souter visited Franklin on Saturday and preached at the First Presbyterian Church on Sunday succeeding Rev. B W Tylers in the pulpit.
In a Monday student government meeting the dormitory girls approved an 4 to 6 pm monthly "Afternoon at Home" the first Thursday of each month. Friends may visit in the dorm parlors or in the girls rooms as the plan gains support.
The sophomore class selects a five member committee led by Allen Ramsay to organize the annual hop. Members include Miss Bach Miss Williams Miss Cain Swan and Gilbert. They aim for a premier college social event and will set a date after Thanksgiving break.
With Hanover football troubles easing the prospect of a better basketball season grows. Gym classes teach fundamentals as last year’s squad and class heroes train on their own. The manager has not released a schedule but it will resemble last year’s. The freshmen and juniors show strength though the loss of C. Montgomery weakens the champs.
The Point House hosted a dormitory event Saturday for college folks. Students toured decorated rooms, enjoyed a large candy booth and a dairy lunch with items like beans soup and hamburgers. A fortune teller drew crowds while Agnes Winters of Madison won a cake as prettiest guest. Proceeds benefited Christian organizations.
Miss Mary Hughes 11 visited the Point House over Sunday, staying with friends and catching up with local residents.
