Hanover Team Outclassed In Louisville Football Trip
Students from Hanover traveled by steamer Laucinda to Louisville for a football game against University School. Hanover was outgunned, allowing six touchdowns while scoring thirty-three points in the opening quarter and half. A historic rustic bridge west of the Presbyterian church has been discarded and a new cement bridge now serves the gully. The old structure was a beloved student gathering spot, while the larger cement replacement aims for long service more than affection.

Venerable Class of 53 Mourns Two Alumni
Eighteen original members of the class of 1853 started, now only four survive. Notable among the living is Dr. J. B. Garritt, with classmates H. S. Kritz of Waveland Indiana E. F. Scovel ex-president of Wooster University and E. J. Hamilton of Plainfield New Jersey. Mrs. E J Hamilton died in October. The college community extends sympathy to Dr Garritt and the alumni.

First Presbyterian Sunday Service Highlights Unity of Science and Religion

Bridge Compromise Solved by Hanover Carrier Peak
Word spread that a Clifty Bridge arch had parted and traffic rerouted via North Madison. Hanover mail carrier Mr. Peak devised a route over boulders and rock ledges to Madison, providing relief until the bridge repair.
