The Glee Club held its first tryout on Monday night with thirty candidates. Meetings will be twice weekly for about a month, then a sixteen man club will be chosen. Winslow leads as specialty man, a new program will be offered, and concert contracts already seek the group.
At a chapel mass meeting Pat Kehoe was chosen to direct vocal efforts of the side-heroes for the football season. He may appoint assistants Merrill Montgomery and Wallace Lewis were asked to join the yell fest. A mass meeting on the athletic field followed with practice. The rooters aim for prime condition for home games October 26 and November 2.
A Hanover College project sparked a social survey of Jefferson County rural life. Led by President Millis with Prof Culbertson, Lawrence Capehart, and Dr Warren H. Wilson, the effort aims to organize social centers linked to rural churches to boost spiritual and intellectual activity.
A college paper urges readers to patronize local Hanover and Madison merchants listed as advertisers. It argues merchants understand student needs and that supporting them sustains quality campus journalism. The list includes books, tailoring, shoes, barbering, clothing, printers, banks, cleaners, restaurants, drugstores, photographers, musicians, and more.

Ralph Hamar visited Sigma Chi brothers last week.
Miami students raise two thousand dollars for athletic association. Centre College junior King Swope, noted for oratory medals, will campaign statewide for Roosevelt though underage. Wabash tailors staff tryouts for The Bachelor with thirty five men. DePauw freshmen adopt blue and white. Fred Rawlings attends Hanover this year.
The editorial letter defends Triangle finances at Hanover College, noting editors use their own funds to cover expenses for banquets and events. It cites nine active Press Club members and Professor Arthur M. Hadley who warns he will resign if subscriber money stops supporting the Triangle.
The Zetelathean and Chrestoma thean literary societies postponed Friday afternoon meetings so members could attend a domestic science demonstration at the Antioch Grange hall west of Hanover. E. E. Black, class of 1912, is teaching in a Chattanooga high school in Tennessee.
