Scrap Rules for Freshmen Sophomore Color Rash

Upperclassmen draft permanent scrap rules before the event. Only Freshmen and Sophomores seated in chapel may participate. Interference from outsiders forbidden. Injurious means prohibited. Freshmen may hoist colors on the tree. Scrap limited to 25 minutes. Referee signals start. No obstructions or spikes on the tree. Officials include a head referee timer and sufficient upperclassmen to enforce.

Dramatic Club Expands With Eleven New Members

The Dramatic Club selected eleven new members from applicants to start the year with full strength. Accepted prospective actors include Frank L. Parrill, Fred Rawlings, Robert Yunker, L. L. Huber, Jack R. Blackburn, B. Wallace Lewis, Cora Millar, Helen Neligh, Alma Little, Helen Reichheimer, and Uma Gaddy. The group plans its first production soon after Thanksgiving.

Tennis For Gym Class In The Open Air

Physical Director Nagel says good weather will allow gym students to enjoy fresh air by substituting time outdoors. Most tennis courts are ready and activity abounds each afternoon. The fall work-out may help identify potential varsity material for next year’s intercollegiate contests.

A Geneva Y M C A rally in a candle lit hall drew 56 college women. The meeting urged shining service as a witness for Christ with Miss Carson leading and Miss Hewk outlining Geneva missions. Y W communities plan to place every girl to work and watch members grow.

Enrollment figures are not yet released by the registrar. It is known that the number of new students enrolling during the opening week slightly exceeded last year’s total.

Press Club at Work Plans for a Stronger College Paper

The Press Club at Hanover holds two busy meetings to organize the term. Three new members replace those not returning, with Voris as assistant circulation manager and Cravens as assistant business manager. A rotating editorial writer experiment is planned amid hopes for wider readership and a larger Indiana Inter-Collegiate Press Association visit this fall. A second meeting at the Sigma Chi house discusses a camp-in to boost student awareness and circulation.

At a special meeting last Friday the athletic association elected officers for the coming year. T W Blair was chosen president. Coulter Montgomery was named vice president, Clinton Van Pelt treasurer, and Clarence Voris secretary.

Nowlin McIntire Wedding Near Milton Kentucky

Culminating Hanover College events a wedding occurred at the McIntire home near Milton Kentucky last Wednesday. E R Nowlin and Ella T McIntire ex 11 were the happy couple with Nowlin a popular campus figure and McIntire a favorite. they will reside in Lawrenceburg Indiana where Nowlin thrives as a stock raiser and landowner. Coulter Montgomery attended as Phi Delta Theta representative.
