Five Queen Candidates Represent Sororities for Homecoming 1964

Five candidates were named to represent sororities and independent women in 1964 Homecoming. Mary Jane Mundy of Alpha Delta Pi, Margot Baldwin of Alpha Omicron Pi, Jennifer Smith representing independent women, Suzanne Northam of Kappa Alpha Theta, and Judy Webb for Phi Mu. Each candidate holds campus roles and majors reflecting diverse student leadership.

Campus Science Club Sets Varied Programs For Year

Hanover campus Science Club reorganizes to offer broader, more varied programs. First meeting Oct. 1 features seniors Wagner Goodbread and Collins presenting summer research. Winter term plans include using the observatory telescope and Western Electric lectures on electrical fields. Mike Farkas, club president, touts student involvement and learning opportunities.

Freshman elect class officers named after Monday vote

Richard Hagarty of Mooresville was elected freshman class president defeating Bern Tryon and Evan Burkholder. Steve LaBarbera of Shelbyville became VP, Ann McCracken of Grosse Pointe Michigan was secretary, and David Shull of Lawrence was treasurer.

Princess Nu Bunnag to Speak at Monday Assembly

Princess Nu Bunnag of Thailand will address the Monday assembly. Her background includes Wattana Wittaya Academy in Bangkok, time teaching, service as Thai administrative staff at the Royal Danish Embassy in 1955, and later work with Universal International Pictures during The Ugly American filming in Bangkok in 1961.

Goldwater Rally Draws Hanover Students in Louisville

About 150 Hanover College students joined 20,000 attendees at a Barry Goldwater rally in Freedom Hall Louisville last Friday. A 17 foot banner welcomed Goldwater with messages from Hanover Sigma Chi brothers and Hanover College youths.

Akers Neher Organize Dad's Day Weekend

Linda Akers a junior from Owensboro Kentucky and Tim Neher a sophomore from Wabash were named co chairs of 1964 Dad's Day committees from the Student Senate. Dad's Day is set for Saturday October 24 with open houses planned after the game with Taylor.
