Tutoring Service Overhaul Approved by Student Senate

The Student Senate approved reorganizing tutoring with a permanent Tutoring Committee led by Warren Prell. A tutor list will be posted on Monday, created from faculty recommendations. tutors will be paid 1.25 per hour. Students must arrange tutoring through Senate, Honoraries, or dean offices and may discontinue anytime.

Madison offers Christmas money drawing in Madison Indiana

Downtown Madison shoppers have a chance to win a total of 1000 dollars in gifts. The Downtown Merchants Association will award five $100 bills and a grand prize of five additional $100 bills. A drawing will be held on December 22 in Madison with the location to be announced later. Tickets are available from association members in Madison Indiana.

Choir Group To Entertain In Assembly

Hanover's Chamber Singers directed by Donald E. Morrison will entertain students in the assembly Monday with madrigal style pieces. The program includes Brahms Six Folk Songs, Bartok Three Folk Songs, and selections from epitaphs cycle. Also performed are Freut ich herzlich zu singen and Dowland Come Again Sweet Love and Vaughan Williams Fain Would I Change That Note.

Juniors Plan Christmas Sing and Boat Ride Details

The Junior Class outlined plans for a Christmas Sing to be held at Parker Auditorium around 10 15 with all living units attending. After carols hot chocolate and donuts will be served. The event is slated for December 17. A Junior-Senior Boat Ride was proposed to replace the prom with a tentative date of May 1.

Hanover College to raise tuition for 1964-65 by 100 dollars

President John Horner announced a 1964-65 tuition increase of 100 dollars and a 10 dollar general fee rise bringing September 1965 total to 980 dollars and general fee to 90 dollars. Hanover remains below Midwest peers and will use funds to cover instructional costs and expand student aid programs.

International Expert To Be Campus Guest

The Rev. Jose Chipenda a pastor from Angola will visit Hanover campus November 18 to 20 as guest of Campus Fellowship. He will speak to the Campus Fellowship Steering Committee next Thursday and address classes during his stay.

As part of Perspectives on America, Classic Hall hosts a week long display of 38 modern American prints from Ferdinand Roten Galleries.
