Service Project Collects Books Returns Them

Local Greek Week effort collected 204 library items and two hymnals, returning them to the library. Among items, 160 were books, four bound magazines, 38 unbound magazines, and two information-file items, with 57 previously stolen and unsigned. A Evansville College Library book was included. Miss Mary Louise Fitton praised the constructive project.

Asian Theater Course Presents Two One-Act Plays

A Chinese theater class stages two one act plays in Parker Auditorium on April 1 at 8 15 pm Following traditional conventions the production features elaborate costumes bare stage symbolic hand movements and flowing sleeves The first tale A Battle of Wits follows Silver Lotus and Sun Chu as they outwit a mother in law The Riverside Pavilion tale centers on Tan Chi Erh who hides her plan from Lord Yang to gain control of a husband and fortune through disguise and wit ending with Tan and Pai concealing themselves behind their sleeves

Alumni Seniors Banquet Slated

The annual Alumni Senior Dinner will be held on April 2. The program includes the 1965 alumni scholarship, two Alumni Senior awards, and an after dinner talk by David W. Hacker of the National Observer, Hanover 1952 graduate from Silver Springs Maryland. Gordon Wolf will receive the alumni scholarship. Invitations for the buffet dinner will be sent to seniors early next week.

Madison Mayor Discusses Budget Woes and Race Issues

Madison Mayor Lytle spoke at the Young Democrats Club on budget strains facing the city. He noted a $300 000 annual budget, underpaid police, and a volunteer fire department amid racial relations questions citing a 6 percent Negro population and gradual integration progress.

Planning Continues For Political Mock Conventions

The annual Goodrich Oratory Contest funded by Mr. P A Goodrich will be held Wednesday afternoon April 1 in Classic 102. Hanover students may compete for the John B Goodrich Oratorical Prize of 50. Holy Week Observances Planned On Campus

Holy Week schedule lists campus events from March 23 to Easter Sunday. Rabbi Murray Blackman will lead a family Passover meal at 10 40 am in Parker Auditorium with Hanover students. Other speakers include Dean James I. McCord and Professor Schroeder with services at multiple locations.

Theft Almost Blacks Out Triangle Election Issue

About 500 copies of the Triangle election issue were stolen from a car on campus as Dave Lawrence began deliveries. The two page edition included a Senate article, candidate questionnaires, and an endorsement. Lawrence and Dave Larson recovered and completed deliveries. the theft delayed some living units and reduced quotas.

Social Probation Action for Phi Delta Theta at Indiana

Indiana Epsilon of Phi Delta Theta receives social probation for the remainder of the school year until January 1, 1965. Campus events limited to one per month. no participation in State Day 1964-65. Evaluation set for May 1965 with further action possible if new facts arise.
