Meeting Set Monday On Plan Revamp

A panel of EPC members and Hanover Plan Evaluation Committee scholars will chair Monday's meeting led by Academic Dean Harold J. Haverkamp. The group reviews a 20 page faculty recommendation and proposes experimental revisions to increase plan flexibility including participation options overload limits, half courses, deeper majors, and pass fail subjects.

Faculty Passes Art Major at Hanover College

The Hanover College faculty approved an eight course art major in their March 6 meeting, with plans to start next year. Art instructor Mr. Whitlock noted a new sculpture or graphics specialist must be hired to implement the program. Seven students have declared art majors.

Last Lecture Series Features Rawson in Long Gym

Dr. Harve Rawson of Hanover's psychology department will give the second Last Lecture in the Triangle series. He speaks Wednesday at eight in the Long gym ballroom, following Dr. James Ferguson who described literature's impact in his last lecture. Coffee will be offered afterward in the Long Gym lounge.

Election Committee Announces Schedule

The Elections Committee releases the spring schedule for 1967 68 elections. Freshman meet March 7 in Lynn Gym sophomores in Classic 109 juniors in Classic 102 to nominate class officers. Petitions for Student Senate President due to Mark Hershman by March 20.

Alumni Senior Banquet Honors Hanover College Seniors

Hanover College will host its Alumni Senior Banquet in Donner Hall on Wednesday March 29. About ten seniors will receive Alumni Awards for their campus leadership and contributions to student life, chosen by a committee with faculty approval. Special guest speaker Thomas J. Houser, 1951 graduate and counsel to Senator Charles Percy, will address attendees. The Alumni Association also awards a $300 scholarship to a junior each year.

Ohio River Flood Prompts Community Evacuations

The Ohio River flood damages estimated at 22 million dollars, forcing the evacuation of about twelve Madison families from Vaughn Drive. Red Cross director Ruth Wallace notes volunteers from nearby colleges aided, moving belongings to storage at Morrow Tobacco Warehouse. Evacuees sought shelter at Central Hotel as riverfront businesses, including Madison Marine, relocated stock and goods to higher ground amid rising waters.

Proposed By Law Changes Alter Election Rules

Changes to Student Senate By-Laws set for vote next week affect officer and senator qualifications, the President's Advisory Council, and election procedures for the Board of Student Affairs and Public Affairs Forum. Proposals include allowing first or second term juniors as Presidential candidates, removing the Recreation Committee, adding the Academic Committee, reconfiguring the Council, post primary speeches, and petition requirements for nominations. Constitutional amendments ratified by Senate on March 8 require student body approval by March 27.
