Hanover College Commencement Week Schedule Released
The Hanover College Alumni Association announced the 1950 Commencement Week program. June 9 features an Alumni Executive Committee meeting and activities at Hillside Hotel, Classic Hall, and Donner Hall. June 10 marks Alumni Day with receptions, meetings, reunions, a banquet address by Deibler, and a college theater show. June 11 offers Baccalaureate services and a Sacred Concert. June 12 presents the Commencement Day program with Salutatorian Byron Lee Haines and Co-Valedictorians Samuel Niles Decker and Edwin Charles Steiner, plus honorary degrees for Mueller Schroeder Ramsen.

54 Seniors Enroll In Graduate Schools
Fifty four of the 173 seniors who will receive degrees at commencement June 12 will go to graduate schools across the country. Nine will attend theological seminaries, six to Johns Hopkins medical school, five to foreign service or foreign trade programs, five in chemistry, five in physical education, four in business schools, and two each in psychology physics and law. Additional graduates will study zoology English mathematics and social sciences.

Robert Lockwood to enter West Point July
Robert E. Lockwood of Marengo will report to the United States Military Academy at West Point on July 5. A Marengo High School graduate, he began at Hanover last September and is affiliated with Phi Gamma Delta. The appointment came on the recommendation of Representative Winfield K. Denton of Evansville.

Year's Honors Presented On Thursday At Hanover
The Student Council asked for an annual athletic holiday as a reward for a major team achievement. They also urged physical exams for all students before Hanover and two annual checks for athletes in spring and fall. A committee to aid Pat McDonald, the handbook editor, was formed. The Council met with Student Affairs, and Dr Zirkle invited members to the Hillside Hotel dinner on September 10 to discuss freshmen orientation and year plans.

Pledges Rise for D P Net to About 550
Approximately 550 has been contributed so far to the Displaced Student Committee chaired by Herbert Strauss. The funds will bring George Bulbenko, a Ukrainian student in Germany, to Hanover for a year of college work with possible local work afterward. Bulbenko’s father plans to join him in the United States and settle in Connecticut.

Tickets for the June 10 performance of Only An Orphan Girl go on sale today through June 10 from Professor James F. Dunlap, director of the production. Students may use activity cards. General admission is 74 cents including tax.

Second Project by Hanover College Women Associates
The Board of Women Associates of Hanover College released details for the second project in the group’s first year, decorating the women’s lounge in Classic Hall with green tones and featuring draperies, paint and white iron furniture. Hanover College marked its thirteenth Honors Day with an eleven o'clock ceremony in the Auditorium. President Albert George Parker presided as honors and prizes were announced, including top athletic and academic awards.

The Faculty Committee on Student Publications announced next year’s staff for the TRIANGLE and REVONAH. Triangle assistant editors are David Hacker and Edward Swearingen. REVONAH associate editor is Patricia McDonald with the assistant editor to be announced later. Carol Smith becomes REVONAH business manager, Jeanette Jackson is advertising manager. Triangle editor Woody Jones named Dick Park as sports editor and Joyce Holst as circulation manager. Triangle business manager for 1950-51 not yet announced.

Winners of two ten dollar awards in the 1950 Hill Thoughts were announced Thursday by Charles Fox. Sally Paulus won best short story for The White Bible and Martha Reynolds won first in the essay division with Beauty. The poetry winner is pending. Parker to Receive Honorary Doctor of Divinity Degree
President Albert G. Parker will receive Park College Missouri honorary Doctor of Divinity at the seventy fifth anniversary commencement. Parker earned an A.B. from Park College in 1914 and later B.D. from Presbyterian Theological Seminary Chicago Ph.D. from the University of Chicago and L.L.D. from Wabash College.
