Sigma Delta Psi Forms A National Athletic Fraternity
Sometime next spring the wandering natives of the suburbs will gaze on the thinly clad as they speed along the pikes or across country. Hanover citizens will be dodging wild baseballs and the thud of the football will be heard again on Wood's field. The newly organized Sigma Delta Psi aims to encourage comprehensive physical development among college students with membership based on athletic ability and scholarship. The initiative originated with Dr. Hutchins of Indiana University and a charter was granted with nine other colleges. Full members must perform feats including an 11 3-5 second 100 yard dash, 20 second 120 yard hurdles, a 5 foot running high jump, and an 18 foot running broad jump.
