Faculty Adopts Two New Rules At Hanover College
Hanover College faculty approved two new rules to take effect this month. A universal penalty for faulty English will apply to all written work, with penalties set by each professor. Also the Social Science major requirement rises from 36 to 40 hours, 12 of which must be above 20, affecting sophomores.

Stone Chairmen for Campus Welfare Fund Review
Dr. Walter Stone chairs the joint Student-Faculty Committee on Campus Solicitation for Welfare Purposes on the Hanover campus. Eva York is secretary with John Collier Mary Pitts Professor John Yarnelle and Dr. George A. Zirkle on the panel. The group acts as a review board for all fund campaigns and timing and meets Monday February 20 at 1 pm in Room 101 Classic to set approval criteria. The committee also approved a solicitation of unorganized students by the DP Student Committee for the week of February 13.

Two Hanover faculty members have articles in professional magazines. Dr J Dan Webster associate professor of zoology authored Notes on the Birds of Wrangell and Vicinity Southeastern Alaska in The Condor January February issue. Prof Frank Baker contributed Time to Restyle Your Style to Scholastic Editor February issue detailing how to assemble material for school and college newspaper style books. Both magazines have national circulation.

Record Group Makes Honor Roll With High GPA
The registrar's office reports twenty-one students earned three point zero or higher last semester. Twenty-one achieved a straight three point eight two GPA, placing on the honor roll. The list by class standing follows with names and classifications.
Student Director Announces Try-outs For One Act Play
Jackson Cravens announces try-outs for the Hanover Players one act production The Moving Finger by Percival Wilde. The play will be shown before the Hanover College assembly on March 28. Try-out times will be announced in assembly next week.

Repeat Scheduled On Washington Tour
The Washington trip, first held last year, may be repeated this spring for Hanover College students. Exactly 30 participants are needed with a March 1 deposit of five dollars non refundable. The four day trip to Washington D C costs about 38 to 40 dollars, excluding meals.
