Approved pre registration programs will be accepted by the Registrar's Office in Room 104 Administration Building starting at 10:00 a.m. on listed days. Freshmen, sophomores, and juniors bring Red Student Book. Schedule includes Dec 5 to Dec 16 with specific groups and times. Students not paying tuition by Dec 20 will have registration canceled.
Frank Maestrone of the State Department will address an assembly Monday. Sponsored by the Cincinnati Council on World Affairs, he serves as chief of the Regional Affairs Division and deputy director for Western Europe in the Bureau of Intelligence and Research.
Morrel head librarian invites students to submit best guesses for the flag code hidden on the divider glass in the water and seas display. The key lies in hydrology literature within the library. An unnamed prize is offered.
Count Basie and his orchestra perform in Hanover on Friday December nine from 8 30 to 10 30 in Lynn Hall. Admission is free to students faculty and administration. Basie’s long career and major awards are noted in publicity.
A series of campus events listed from Friday December 2 to Thursday December 8. Includes movie nights The Hustler and Forbidden Games at Parker Auditorium, performances by Hanover Film Society, and campus activities with fraternities and student organizations. Lectures by Cincinnati Council on World Affairs and Dr Joseph Haroutunin, plus meetings and chapel services.
Dr. Gabriel Vahanian, author of The Death of God, analyzes how history, religion, and theology shape today’s debates. He argues concepts reflect human context, cites modern man’s rejection of God, and calls man both idolater and iconoclast. A Classic Hall discussion followed his Chapel address.
President Horner moves to form a 8 member committee with two representatives from students faculty administration and trustees to study discipline policy. Senate will select student members and reveal method next Wednesday. Dean Haverkamp handles faculty selections while Horner appoints administration reps and trustees are excluded.
Mr. James Long, Hanover utilities manager, said the Crowe Falls sewer leakage was repaired on Nov. 4 after pipes in the 80 year old system broke, with holes caused by vandalism and freezing temperatures. Three sections of 80 lb pipe were replaced and construction faced steep terrain. He urged students to report maintenance issues and noted a town board meeting schedule for questions.
