John Gurley Blake A Life Of Service In Indiana And Colorado
John Gurley Blake born August 15 1845 in Indianapolis rose from local schools to Hanover College and notable roles. He led the Fort Wayne School for the Feeble minded and served as chaplain at Plainfield Reform School Canyon City State Prison and as a home missionary and minister. He was a gifted speaker with a magnetic presence loved by many and remembered for his dedication to public welfare.

Spring term adds thirty new students to Hanover enrollments
The spring term brings about thirty new names to the enrollment list. Among the newcomers are Mrs. C. L. Sarver Deputy Agnes Dunlop Madison Evelyn Marshall and many others from towns including Petersburg Vevay Hanover Madison LaFayette Madison Scipio and North Vernon. Indiana was defeated by Iowa 14 14 in the wrestling meet held in Minneapolis on April 11 and 8th.

Endowment Adds Funds for Garritt Memorial Chair
Endowment secretary Graham reports additions to the endowment fund. The Presbyterian College Board allocates ten thousand dollars to the Garritt Memorial Bible chair. J E Huston of Connersville gives five hundred dollars. Fourteen hundred dollars comes from thirty churches and religious bodies in the state. Foundation goal remains thirty thousand before June commencement.
