HUD and mayors push Smith & Wesson preference in gun buys
HUD Secretary Andrew Cuomo and the mayors of Atlanta Detroit and Miami urged local governments to favor Smith & Wesson in gun purchases. The directive covers public housing authorities and police and sheriff departments in three big cities with a goal to boost sales for the firm signed to include safety locks on handguns. Cuomo said a third of annual gun purchases come from government agencies and urged other cities to follow suit.
