More than 500 black law enforcement officers from across the state gather in Hammond for the 36th Magnolia State Peace Officers State Conference at the Holiday Inn. Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff St Kerry Dangerfield Sr is chapter president with Hammond detective Charles Muse as first vice president. Activities include pistol match seminars by Clara Toombs and Mack McCraney a memorial service banquet pageant and ball. Memorial service Friday at 10 a.m. Rev. Charles Clay will speak. State Sen.
