Hamiota Council Voices French Language Service Costs
The Rural Municipality of Hamiota urges the Privileges and Elections Committee to limit French language service costs in Manitoba and argues that funding should not burden all taxpayers amid federal and provincial deficits. They challenge two founding language claims, oppose turning back the clock to 1870 laws, and call for a referendum during fall elections with postponement of final decisions until after October 26, 1983.
