Licence Renewals Mailed In Manitoba Snowmobile Registry

The Manitoba Highways Minister announced renewal applications are being mailed to about 45 000 snowmobile owners for a three year licence from October 1 to September 30 1979. The 30 dollar fee covers the licence. insurance is not mandatory though optional.

U C W Hamiota Meeting and School Board Actions

The Hamiota U C W fall meeting on September 9 had sixteen members with Mrs. Ward and Mrs. Andrew leading the worship. The Board of Rolling River School Division appointed Bill Crooks Transportation Supervisor, promoted Ray Bazin to Shop Foreman, and planned hires and policy discussions for 1976 77.

Hamiota Bowling Club winds up season with Strathclair meet

On September 15 the Hamiota Bowling Club hosted Strathclair with six lanes and two games followed by lunch and a social. On September 17 the wind up tournament used four lanes for two games, a Pot Luck Supper on the grounds with 35 members, a brief meeting, and thanks from the President for a good summer of bowling.

Anniversary Surprise for Ken and Freda Kerr

On August 28 at 8 00 p m Ken and Freda Kerr were surprised by family and friends celebrating their twenty fifth anniversary. Allan presented twenty five roses and children gave a console coffee table. A three tier cake and buffet supper followed with a social hour and gifts.

Oak River General Meeting Sets Spirit and Plans

Sixteen women attended the September 7 meeting led by President Mrs. McNeill who discussed church themes and hymns. The group reported a bank balance of 840.59 dollars and planned November packing of bales and Oxford House layette purchases by the convenor. Services target October first week and meals priced three dollars per plate.

Park Residence News Visitors and Visits Across Regions

Visitors to Stella Brays include her Winnipeg niece and her husband from Winnipeg. Mrs Cowling attended granddaughter Barbara Lakatos's wedding in Winnipeg on Sept 1. Mrs Sutherland visits Winnipeg for weeks and later visits Beulah Miniota Altamont and Virden. Attendees salute Golden Age Club in Miniota. Several residents host or thank neighbors from Shoal Lake Sherwood Dauphin and Dauphin area.
