Hamiota Hospital Plans Move Forward With Architect
On Monday September 13 an architect and structural engineer Mr Bodini visited Hamiota to survey the current hospital building. They photographed walls cupboards and counters with Mrs Hadland and Mrs Caldwell and discussed details. Working drawings aim for completion and fall construction to begin.

Auxiliary Meet at Oak River Honors Scholarship Winner
Our first fall meeting on September 8 had 15 members. Grace Bullock presided and requested reports. Wendy McCallum received the scholarship awarded by the auxiliary for the top student. Gladys Johnson received a fruit plate. Mrs Nesbitt won the door prize.

Hamiota Bowling Club Holds Annual Tournament
The Hamiota Bowling Club held its annual tournament on Monday September 13 with eight rinks. Lloyd McConnell’s rink won the day with Edna Emerson Amy Harrison and Levena Kerr. Mary McLaughlin’s rink took the consolation with Myrtle Decker Elsie Butchart and Marge Davis. A post event lunch and meeting followed, acknowledgments were given to grounds keeper Hazel Black Levena Kerr and Rose McBain, and the Partridge Family donated a gate. Strathclair hosted July 31 with return games in Hamiota August 30 as the season began late due to rain.

U C W Meet at Decker Church Hosts September Session
The September U C W meeting at Mrs Gregory's home on September 16 had 14 members present with Mrs Hunter presiding. Worship was led by Mrs Cochrane and Mrs Runchey for Group IV. Minutes and correspondence were read. plans included Osborne Tea on September 29 at Neepawa and a mission clothing drive due by October 30 1971. Lavinia donated red velvet pull drapes for the church and the manse kitchen was recently painted and repaired. Groups 3 and 4 will cater a wedding on October 9 with a lunch served by the committee.
