Ross Kinsley Dies in Minto Farming Accident

Ross Kinsley 35 a noted Minto area sportsman and Riverside Canucks veteran was electrocuted in a farm incident while working with electrical equipment. Survived by wife Elaine and three children, his death drew community shock and MSBL respect as Riverside Canucks attended his funeral at Brockie Donovan and burial in Minto.

Quebec All-Stars win Canadian junior baseball title

In Thorold Ontario the Quebec All-Stars defeated Surrey 4-3 in 10 innings to capture the Canadian junior baseball championship. Jacques Raciot of Quebec earned MVP honors with two complete games and a 2-0 record, while St Boniface's rep fell 7-1 to Thorold. Doug McPhail of Hamiota Red Sox contributed Manitoba's lone run with a fourth inning homer.

Anniversary Marked for Crandall W11 60th Birthday

The Crandall W11 held its 60th anniversary on August 6 at the Community Centre at 2 pm. About 50 to 60 attendees from Oak River Hamiota Isabella Arrow River and Miniota signed the guest book. Mrs W Taylor presided. Mrs Hyndman Cardale district president spoke a few words. Louise Hyndman read a history of Crandall W11. Five girls performed two musical numbers. Lunch and social time followed as cake and decorations were admired.
