Women’s Institute Meet Hamiota resumes after holiday
The local W I met September 2 in the community room with 13 members present. Thelma Morris presided and the roll call sparked educational ideas. Red Cross work included 225 boys pants, 225 boys T shirts, 10 girls pantie dresses, 460 items. 25 afghans and 24 sweaters were knitted. Hemiota plans for its 85th anniversary celebration in December.

Pony Club Meeting Highlights Achievements and Reorganization
Members of the Pony Club gathered at N. Brooks farm on August 16 for an achievement day. Judge Connor Doake of Neepawa led the evaluations, ribbons were awarded, and the event included a chow lunch and a trail ride. Dennis Brooks thanked Doake and urged members to submit records to the Hamiota 4H office ahead of the October reorganization meeting.

Shower Held for Mrs Eileen Bartley in Chumah Hall
A miscellaneous shower honoring Mrs Eileen Bartley was held in Chumah Hall on Friday September 5 1975. About 85 friends and neighbors signed the guest book. Eileen’s mother Mrs Gwen Douglas and groom’s mother Mrs May Bartley greeted guests as they arrived. Verna Keeler Jean McMillan and Dot Venables escorted guests to their seats. Verna Keeler gave the address and gifts were presented by Eileen’s nephews James and David Ogg from Laurier. Eileen spoke briefly. Mrs Doreen Angus chaired the guest book and Mrs Alice Pedlow led at the piano. A lunch was served by the committee.
