Festival runs November 3 to 7 at Miniota School gym with speech arts and dance classes. Davern Turvey of Winnipeg adjudicates speech on Nov 3–5. Florence Widdicombe of Foxwarren adjudicates dance. Final concert November 7 at 7:30 p.m. A raffle supports expenses. annual meeting November 25 at Miniota United Church.

Bride elect honored in Decker Church shower
On Saturday October 18 a miscellaneous shower was held in Decker Church parlor for Diane Rosenberger whose marriage to Ross Hunter of Brandon will take place November 1 in Decker Church. Corsages were given to the bride mother Ellen Rosenberger groom’s sister Claudia Neiacka grandmothers Kathleen Musgrove Minnie Rosenberger. Joan Strachan played Here Comes the Bride and other selections. Guests signed a book. a humor skit and gifts circulated as Diane thanked everyone. Lunch and visiting followed the reception.

Hamiota Health Centre Auxiliary meets with ten districts represented
The Hamiota District Health Centre Auxiliary held a meeting October 23 with ten districts present. President Pauline Campbell chaired. Betty Oakden opened with a reading and the Auxiliary Prayer. Expenses were $2,751.96 with a $150.00 allocation. Plans formed for Birch Lodge Tea October 30 and Park Residence Tea November 13.

Objection Rejected On Rezoning By Law No. 18/86
