Mobile Bake Sale Huge Success In Hamiota Community

The fall mobile bake sale raised over 2000 for the Hamiota and District Sports Complex. With 50 volunteers and cooperative weather, the event drew strong support from donors and buyers. Organizers plan spring efforts and more fundraisers for the new rink, including a Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre on November 19 with tickets sold by Al Gordon.

Clocks Turn Back For Standard Time In Manitoba

On Sunday October 30 clocks revert to standard time across Manitoba at 3:00 a.m. turning back to 2:00 a.m. The change follows uniform daylight saving rules keeping the last Sunday in October as the annual end of daylight time.

Dancers Gather for Evening at Hamiota Elementary

A dance event drew seven squares of dancers to Hamiota Elementary School on October 20. Organizer David Guille of Cheyenne hosted with attendees from Cromer Deloraine Erickson Newdale Oak Lake Souris and Hamiota. Dave Guille and family members were present.

Circular Postal Routes Prompt Action by MP White

Ottawa reports that local MP Brian White contacted the Minister Responsible for Canada Post to address concerns over the experimental circular route mail delivery. He cites adverse impacts on small businesses and community newspapers and notes a gap between efficiency goals and actual service in Dauphin-Swan River. Constituents are invited to share their experiences for forwarding to the minister.
