Birdtail River S D Regular Board Meeting Minutes

The Birdtail River School Division No 38 board met in Crandall on Thursday October 14 1976 at 8 00 p m Trustees present were Butcher Huberdean Choptuik Lewycky Armitage Kreager Tolton Falloon and Shier The agenda included correspondence from Zone X M S S A A financial support for 1976 77 and other items The meeting covered announcements from the Minister of Education appointing Judge F W Monnaring as Chairman of Arbitration and notes on trustee nominations and professional development events for teachers

Shower Honours Miss Carol Konowalchuk Bride Elect

A September 24 1976 shower in Chumah Hall honored Carol Konowalchuk bride elect for October 14. About 125 relatives and friends attended. Sue-Ann Duncan led arrangements while Leila Patterson played piano. Carol received corsages and thanks guests before gifts were presented.

Crandall Oct Meeting of U C W Opens With Purpose

Seven ladies attended the Crandall U C W meeting with Mrs. Alice Rudd in the chair. The South Group led worship on Thanksgiving, minutes were read and approved, and discussion covered the Church Memorial Fund and treasurer Ada Fleming's detailed report showing 790.04 on hand.

Hamiota 4 H Home Ec Club reorganizes with new officers

The Hamiota 4 H Home Ec Club held its reorganizational meeting on September 27 at the Elementary School. New officers include Linda Oakden as President Pat Fraser as Vice President Sherri Gregory as Treasurer Heather Brooks as Secretary Beth Cochran as Pianist and Wanda Dixon as Press Reporter.

Health Centre Auxiliary Holds Fall Meeting in Hamiota

The Health Centre Auxiliary met September 24 1976 in the hospital Board Room with 12 districts present. Minutes from June were adopted and the treasurer reported a balance of $3474.94. An October meeting will feature regional rep Miss Doak and a liaison report was given by Mrs. Waddell with August hospital statistics.

Anniversary Marked At Hamiota For 40th Wedding

About 31 relatives gathered at Chumah Hall on Sunday October 10 1976 to celebrate the fortieth wedding anniversary of Mr and Mrs Harvey Gray. The couple received gifts from family and grandchildren and friends joined in the evening. Relatives attended from Courtney B C Beausejour Manitoba Winnipeg Virden Pope and Hamiota. The hospital notes show totals of 485 meals in Hamiota with 18 workers, 85 adults 4 newborns 2 major operations 17 minor operations 118 outpatients 2 blood bottles 5 transfers 26 mobile meal recipients and 15 home care patients 130 visits. A student nurse began seven weeks of training in June and Bea McLean completed her sixth Gimli course. On September 16 the hospital was re assessed for accreditation with a supply committee reporting two kettles purchased and a list of needs. A Blood Donor Clinic in July prompted discussion on improving future clinics and donor turnout. Next meeting set for October 22 at 2 00 p m.
