Rabid Skunk Attack Prompts Winnipeg Rabies Warning
Winnipeg residents are warned after a rabid skunk bit a boy on September 17. The victim began anti rabies treatment at Misericordia Hospital as officials confirmed the skunk’s rabies and urged immediate medical contact if attacked. Rodents are not rabies carriers and keeping a skunk as a pet requires medical officer permission.

Cochrane-Beamish Reunion At Neepawa Rotary Park
Annual reunion drew over seventy attendees at Rotary Park Neepawa on July 18. Four senior Cochrane clan members over 80 received corsages and a boutonniere. Activities included croquet lawn darts horseshoes and a ball game followed by a smorgasbord supper and twilight departure.

Decker September Meeting At Mrs Little Home
The September meeting was held at Mrs. Little's home on Thursday October 16 at 8 o'clock. Eight members attended with Group 1 conducting worship. The thought for the day was God is Everywhere. The treasurer reported finances. We served at four weddings netting 864.95 and purchased Bibles for the girls married. Ten dollars were sent to Muscular Dystrophy Society from W.I. funds. Flowers were given to Mrs. Bessie Doherty and Mr. and Mrs. A Maynes in memory of their mother. We will cater to Bill Hall's Sale and H Hunter's. A donation of 1000 was given to the Church Board. Group 2 will clean the church in October. Meeting adjourned and lunch served.

Eva Angus Honored in Brandon Farewell Event
About 70 friends and relatives gathered October 4 to honor Eva Angus as she moved to the White Swan Trailer Court in Brandon. Kay Curl presented a purse of money and a pin wheel crystal horn of plenty. Bill Thomson gave the address. Eva thanked the guests during a social hour and lunch.

Hamiota School Band Committee Meeting Sees Enrollment Rise
The Hamiota School Band committee met on October 7 in the Collegiate with about 15 members present. Nineteen new members bring total band enrollment to 65. a new fee schedule and a Communication Letter will inform families of Tim Lawson’s class changes in early November due to the Festival and the November 11 holiday. the next meeting is set for November 1 and new members are welcomed.

Nominations Set for Birdtail River Trustees
On October 6 1976 Crandall held Nominations Day for Birdtail River School Division trustees. Five seats filled by acclamation. incumbents re elected in Wards 2 4 6 and 10 while Ward 8 added Allan Murray of Foxwarren. Doug Falcon did not seek re election. Falloon cited two years as Foxwarren trustee and eight years with Birdtail River board.
