Manitoba residents will set clocks back one hour on Sunday morning October 29 under the Official Time Act of 1967. Standard time returns as daylight saving ends at 3:00 a.m. October 29, with clocks reset to 2:00 a.m. across the province.
Rt. Hon. John Diefenbaker endorses Diet Gordon Ritchie and Craig Stewart for re election at a Dauphin rally before 1200 supporters. He attacks Trudeau policies, pledges higher grain prices and a farm development program as western farmers face low prices and rising living costs.
Hamiota Hospital District 7A Ladies Aid met Friday September 22 in the community room with Mrs Hudson presiding. The group discussed donations, loans, correspondence, patient care totals, hospital renovations, and planned October 26 opening ceremonies at the elementary school.
A meeting of the Explorers was held in Chumah Hall on October 11 with eight members present. Officers listed include President Catherine Boyd, Secretary Maxine Gray, Treasurer Julie McConnell, and Press Reporter Mary Johnston. The group began with the Purpose Motto and closed with the hymn Children Who Walk In Jesus Way.
