Ugandan Doctor Welcomed to Oak River by MP Craig Stewart
Craig Stewart MP for Marquette introduced Dr. Virani Nizarani to Oak River on Friday October 20. Stewart helped secure the Ugandan doctor after consultations with Ottawa immigration officials. Dr. Nizarani, married with a 22 month old son, expressed happiness to be in Canada and in Oak River. UCW Meet at Mrs Griffiths Home With Twelve Members
Unit 2 of the UCW held its meeting at the home of Mrs. R. Griffiths with 12 members present. Miss Luella Bowman opened the meeting with the UCW Creed and led the worship. The group plans a Tea and Bake Sale and a clothing drive ending in November. They are gathering drapes and blankets for the supply and welfare. A lunch was served by Mrs. Griffiths and Luella Bowman.
