Oak River Memorial Rink Sweepstakes Winners Listed
The Oak River district announces $50.00 sweepstakes winners: September 10 Ross Argue, September 24 Bill Ram say, October 8 Alex Gerrard. Members of the Oak River Women’s Institute held an October 6 meeting after a summer recess with remembrance for Myrtle White. Myrtle, a 51-year WI member, held offices locally, was Regional President, and served on the FWIC federal board. A four way tie for prettiest leaf marks a good autumn. The group endorsed a home based business format presented by Annika Weaks-Lintott of Manitoba Business Development and Tourism. Volunteer members shared experiences in bedding plants, hairdressing, and craft sales. November brings the WI annual meeting and next year’s activities. Glen and Susan Hopley hosted for Thanksgiving weekend. Susan studies arts at Manitoba and Glen computer engineering.
