Quinoa researched for protein rich grain in Peru and Manitoba
Dr. Michael Eskin of Manitoba studies quinoa, a high protein Andean grain grown by Rossburn farmer George Clarke and tested at Morden Agricultural Station. Peru Peruvians have used it for centuries as a staple. It may balance amino acids similarly to meat, aiding nutrition in developing countries and offering Manitoba an alternative crop.
