Farmers bankers and exporters will meet at the Agricultural Extension Centre in Brandon on Wednesday Oct 15 for a one day seminar on expanding exports of Manitoba agricultural products. MPE Official Opening at Quadra
Manitoba Pool officials travel to Quadra near Brandon on October 23 to open a new high through put elevator. The precast concrete and steel design tests future elevator construction with larger bins and longer spans, including a 170000 bushel capacity, aeration, Uniflo Cleaner, a 60 tonne scale, and 6 000 bushel per hour legs. Warren Shewfelt manages the facility serving producers north of Virden south of Birtle and west of Oakner.

Manitoba allocates extra 2.5 million for forest fire costs
Manitoba Natural Resources Minister Brian Ransom announced an additional 2.5 million to cover forest fire suppression costs through September 30, 1980. Dry spring and summer boosted fires to 1,073 events covering 603,300 hectares, with total suppression costs at 9.4 million. Four fires remain, three under control, as weather conditions dictate further action.

A R Tax Schools in Winnipeg offers an income tax preparation course teaching up to date methods. A survey shows 97 percent of graduates recovered tuition costs, with many earning fees from preparing returns.
